Religious Education

At St Peter’s we aim to provide an RE curriculum that enables the children to flourish as they gain key skills to be able to examine beliefs, attitudes and values that will guide them throughout their life. We have a diverse syllabus allowing the children to learn about and from a number of religions, such as Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism, whilst still being firmly rooted in the Christian values of the school.

We believe in the children having first hand experiences and so our RE teaching is enhanced through the use of artefacts, visits and visitors throughout the year. Our close link with St Margaret’s Church in Brotton provides many opportunities for visits and services

Please see our Curriculum Intent page for Subject Overviews.

School Visits to St. Margaret’s Church

Reception loved their role-play baptism at St Margaret’s church this morning. They listened brilliantly, as baby Rosie was Baptised. The parents and godparents were all very proud.

Harvest Prayer Spaces

To celebrate and explore the time of Harvest, the worship team set up a range of Harvest Prayer Spaces within school.  The stations focused upon giving thanks for different types of harvests.  Each station had a reading from the bible.  This then culminated in a prayer space of thanksgiving, celebrating all that we have to be thankful for.

During our Worship this week we have prayed for the people of the Ukraine, creating this prayer tree in hope of peace.
