Welcome to Year 3 & 4 Area!

We have 2 classes in our area, and they are both mixed Year 3/4 classes. We all work together and cover the same topics throughout the year, working on a 2-year rolling programme.

Entering Key Stage 2 is an exciting time where our children continue their learning journey and develop a sense of responsibility. They develop their independence through lots of creative topics that enrich their understanding of the world around them.

Our School day:

Focused Reading
English Lesson
Maths Lesson (Streamed by ability)
Foundation Subject/ Topic focus

PE day is every Wednesday, please make sure your child brings in an appropriate kit.

Year 4 children will attend swimming lessons at Loftus Leisure Centre

Homework:

Weekly spellings given on a Monday and tested on a Friday.
Maths Homework given out on a Tuesday and due in by Thursday.
English Homework given out on a Friday and due in on Monday.

Reading:

When your child is ready they will move from a book band onto Accelerated Reader (AR).

Please encourage your child to read regularly and a parent/ carer to sign the Reading Record each time they have read. This will help your child to progress and receive whole school and class rewards.
