Welcome to Year 3 & 4 Area!

We have 3 classes in our area, a Year 3 class, a Year 3/4 class and a Year 4 class. We all work together and cover the same topics throughout the year, working on a 2-year rolling programme.

Entering Key Stage 2 is an exciting time where our children continue their learning journey and develop a sense of responsibility. They develop their independence through lots of creative topics that enrich their understanding of the world around them.

Focused Reading
English Lesson
Maths Lesson (Streamed by ability)
Foundation Subject/ Topic focus

PE day is every Tuesday, please make sure your child brings in an appropriate kit.

Year 4 children will attend swimming lessons at Loftus Leisure Centre

Homework:

Weekly spellings given on a Monday and tested on a Friday.
Maths Homework given out on a Tuesday and due in by Thursday.
English Homework given out on a Friday and due in on Monday.

Reading:

When your child is ready they will move from a book band onto Accelerated Reader (AR).

Please encourage your child to read regularly and a parent/ carer to sign the Reading Record each time they have read. This will help your child to progress and receive whole school and class rewards.
